Extraordinarily Ordinary
Many students will begin the school year with one parent noticeably absent. Thousands of American service men and women are missing those first days of school. It is yet another sacrifice made for the country they serve.
Author and playwright, Mariah Richardson, puts the pain to paper for the thousands of children who are brave warriors in their own right. Her book, Extraordinarily Ordinary, tells the story of a little girl whose mother is deployed. Richardson talked with TheVillage’s Asueleni Deloney about her commitment to supporting the nation’s military families.
