The stars of gospel reigned in Music City during the 2014 Stellar Awards. Tamala Mann won seven awards, including Artist of the Year. Kirk Franklin took home honors for Song of the Year for “Take Me To The King,” which he wrote for Tamala Mann.
Nashville, Tennessee is home to country music’s awards ceremonies, but it is now also the stage gospel’s luminaries are claiming for its industry honors. TheVillageCelebration’s Glen Abbott travels to Nashville for a look at its place in the nation’s songbook.
