More than 50 years after The Moynihan Report, the narrative of the dysfunctional Black family still holds sway over the American imagination. But, a government commissioned report that failed to explain the effects of systemic racism over hundreds of years is being challenged daily by the presence of the First Family. Sociologist Veronica Newton talks about the Black family and the resilience of its roots.
