George Zimmerman Trial,spirituality
Testimony: Day 3
The day began with a victory for the prosecution. Judge Debra Nelson ruled that George Zimmerman’s previous calls to 911 could be played during trial. The prosecution is alleging that Zimmerman was frustrated by recent break-ins at The Retreat at Twin Lakes and was overzealous the night he shot Trayvon Martin.
Two neighbors testified that Zimmerman was on top of Martin during their scuffle. June Surdyka and Jeannee Manalo said they heard noises like a “scuffle” that rainy night. Manalo said the “bigger” person was on top during the fight. The defense showed her photos of Zimmerman and Martin. She testified that she used photos she later saw of the two to determine that Zimmerman was the “bigger” person in the fight. But, the defense attorneys pointed out that the photos of Martin had been taken when he was younger and smaller.
But the day belonged to the star witness for the prosecution, 19 year-old Rachel Jeantel. Jeantel was the last person to speak with Martin the night he died.
